Henry Hudson Bridge
3D Laser Scanning and Survey Services
Featuring the Leica Geosystems HDS 4500
Ultra high-speed 3D Laser Scanning

The Henry Hudson Bridge connecting Manhattan and the Bronx opened in 1936 and was the longest fixed arch bridge in the world. The bridge originally only had one level, but its design allowed for construction and support of a second level.

Meridian Associates employed 3D laser scanning to document the interior vertical face of the tower supports of both ends of the bridge. Feature based registration was utilized for individual scan registration, the registration of conditions.
