Case Study

Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum
Record Conditions Survey, Plan and Section Drawings of Museum

Client:

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
280 The Fenway, Boston, MA

Description:

The Isabella Gardner Museum's newest building balances the dual role of careful preservation and its growing role as a vital force in contemporary culture. The new spaces in the museum accommodate exhibitions, programs, visitors services, classes, offices and greenhouses; while reducing the wear and tear of the museum's existing historic environment.

A Record Conditions Survey was conducted to accurately determine the space configuration of the existing floors of the building.
The scanning was conducted through five floors including basement level. Registered scan information was used to generate cross sections, plans and profits to support Architectural design.
