Case Study

Beverly High School

Mt. Vernon Group Architects

In the spring of 1965 Beverly High School students walked a quarter mile from the old high school (now Briscoe Middle School) to the new high school at 100 Sohier Road. Since the spring of 1965 very few improvements had been made on the high school. In September 2000, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) placed the Beverly High School on "warning" citing deteriorating conditions of the building, its infrastructure and its instrumental equipment. A study was then conducted to provide a comprehensive examination of the current high school and to develop options and costs for future facilities needs.

Meridian Associates conducted a boundary retracement survey and topographic survey to map existing site features for 49 more or less acres and prepared a Record Conditions Plan of Land as described in the Request for Proposal.
